In consideration of the mutual promises and covenants contained herein, the parties agree as follows:

1. Purpose: The purpose of this Agreement is to protect the legitimate business interests of the Employer, including trade secrets and confidential information, in accordance with North Carolina law.
2. Non-Competition: The Employee agrees that during the term of employment and for a period of __________ (___) months following termination of employment, Employee will not engage in any business activity that competes with the Employer’s business within the following geographic area: ____________________________________.
3. Consideration: The Employee recognizes that this Agreement is supported by valid consideration, including but not limited to:
   • The opportunity to obtain employment with the Employer;
   • The Employer's access to training and confidential information;
   • Potential bonuses and other benefits during the term of employment.
4. Extent of Restriction: The restrictions set forth in this Agreement will not be broader than necessary to protect the Employer's legitimate business interests, as outlined in this Agreement.
5. Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
6. Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
7. Entire Agreement: This document constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. Any modifications must be in writing and signed by both parties.
